It helps identify opportunities in material usage and design that can ultimately lower material costs by 3-10%. FTI ACS pinpoints components that fall short of material utilisation targets or show a decline compared to previous models. Manufacturers will see tangible improvements in overall material usage and Body-In-White weight. The data generated by the system also makes it possible to spot potential formability concerns very early in the product development cycle. By resolving these issues during the design phase, manufacturers can also expect fewer formability-related engineering changes once designs are signed off for production.
